ABOUT

Hello!
Thanks for checking out my health club! I'm Lizzie Barnett, a certified personal trainer and social scientist specializing in health behavior, health communication, and exercise. After 15 years of working in public health and physical activity research, I started Lizzie's Health Club so I could smush together all of my knacks and passions into one business that would help people:
-
move more and enjoy doing it
-
create and keep healthy habits
-
navigate complicated health care language and systems
-
build relationships through physical activity
-
become and stay healthy in a way that feels good
Health and fitness have been the common threads running through every phase of my life. When I was eight years old, I’d set up a blanket on the floor and run through calisthenics with my pretend audience on my pretend fitness show I called "Zil htiw Krow" (that’s "Work with Liz" backwards). Later, as a college athlete and coach, I learned how to train for performance. Then, as a working mom — working in health, wellness, and health communication — I learned how to "train" for day-to-day activities.
It's a dream to bring this version of Zil to life — and I can't wait to work with you!
